Behind the Scenes: The Making of "The Color of Hope"

EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS:   ANNETTE EBERLY   KENNY LEE ROBINSON   CORINE GATTI   JAROD COLLIER
A SHORT FILM PRODUCED BY ALLENDALE CHRISTIAN MEDIA / ST. JOHN LUTHERAN CHURCH OF JENISON-ALLENDALE, MICHIGAN
Allendale Christian Media's first Christian short film, titled "The Color of Hope," features Hunter Tuggle and Adayla Liggett. Photographed in both black and white and color, and silent with no dialogue, a park bench introduces a colorless environment. However, when a Bible miraculously appears beside the person seated, a colorful reality emerges.

ABOVE: Placement of the Bible on the bench to establish shots where it appears in a dissolve transition. RIGHT: Kristen and Kevin Collier ready a shot featuring Adalya Liggett. A funny note is that although Adayla was photographed in color, she appears in black and white in the finished piece. BELOW MIDDLE: The bench at Rycenga Park, Ottawa County, Michigan. MIDDLE RIGHT: Hunter Tuggle reading the Bible.

BELOW: Hunter waits for his cue. RIGHT: Hunter reaches toward the Bible in a scene, while Kevin directs. The completed piece will display Hunter's half of the screen in black and white, while the Bible side will be in color. To divide the area visually for the actors, a tiny black line appears at the middle of the bench seat.

LEFT: Featured actors Adayla Liggett and Hunter Tuggle chat in-between their scenes. Ironically, the two never appear together in a scene, and while Adayla's scene was shot first, she appears only in the last few seconds of the film.

We thank Hunter and Adayla for their time and for being a part of Allendale Christian Media's first short film project. God bless you!

Thank you for supporting this short film by making a donation

We want to thank those who financially contributed to "The Color of Hope" GoFundMe page, where brothers and sisters in Christ could make a donation to Allendale Christian Media, a digital audio/visual community ministry outreach of St. John Lutheran Church of Jenison/Allendale, Michigan. Funds raised will support ACM, which opens doors to students and residents to become disciples in this digital video age spreading the word of Jesus Christ. God bless you.
